Jana Soiseth Principal/Creative Director
We can thank the Granite City of St. Cloud, Minnesota for Jana, who grew up wondering just what sort of saint a cloud would be. She spent years after high school running a bus tour company and bringing gaggles of (somewhat) elderly folks to attractions such as Niagra Falls and Branson, Missouri. Tired of the road, she settled down and into The College of Visual Arts in St. Paul where she got her Bachelor's degree in graphic design and soon after a job at Yamamoto-Moss in Minneapolis. Hailing from a family of animal lovers, Jana brought with her two cats - one an ocicat from the Humane Society who could pick locks and a thousand dollar Asian Blue Leopard whose cute but not so very smart.

Luke Soiseth Principal/Producer/Editorial Director
Luke spent the first six months of his life in Iowa City, IA, then was quickly uprooted to the Twin Cities where he currently resides with wife, Jana, and kids, Olivia and Ben. The entrepreneurial spirit hit him early when he figured out he could mow one lawn then bike over to the Electric Fetus for a brand spanking new ELO or Eno LP. He moved on to other jobs in retail, restaurants, accounts payable, and so on, landing one particularly sweet gig as DJ at Graffitti's in Minneapolis sometime back in the eighties. Eventually he wandered back to school and a Master's Degree from UMD where he had the lucky job of teaching any university's most popular class - Freshman Comp - to wildly enthusiastic and thoughtful students. Upon graduation he answered an ad for an advertising copywriter at H.T. Klatzky & Associates in Duluth, MN, and won the position on the strength of his paper on St. Augustine's Confessions. After a brief stint at Yamamoto-Moss in Minneapolis, he opened Mod & Company along with wife, Jana. When not at work he tries to stay in shape and shapes heads out of clay in the basement.

Britt Sax Senior Designer
Born and raised in the booming metropolis of Poplar (population 500), Britt came to realize amidst the verdant, misty farmland, her family was the only one to have a gadget called a "Satellite Dish." This odd device brought images from around the world and MTV. At 10 years old, the goal of one day moving to Minneapolis (to live in the same city as Prince) was inevitable. After completing a degree at UW-Stout, and getting a job in Minneapolis at an ad agency Britt finally got to meet Prince at Paisley Park. 12 years later, Britt still resides in Minneapolis, but has added award-winning graphic design, aspiring chef, photography, landscaping, beekeeping and maniacal levels of gardening to her roster.
Aside from the occasional viewing of the "Satellite Dish" gadget on her urban farm, figuring out the next set of projects and goals continues. Some things never change. Kind of like Britt.

Korly DeVries Designer
Arriving as a Korean transplant at the tender age of three months and raised in the frigid tundra of Moorhead, MN, Korly was somehow able to make the seamless transition from kimchi to high falutin tater tot hotdish. Although her tastes have graduated to a more refined palette of jicama quinoa salads and grass-fed mammals, she still honors her humble roots with a packet of neon cheese powder every so often to pay her respects.
After receiving a B.F.A. in graphic design with an additional English Literature minor to discern grammatical foibles from UW-Stout, Korly was ready to be the city bear she always dreamed she would be. Gaining experience at multifarious Minneapolis design firms led Korly to Mod's front door, where she has been ever since.
In addition to being all graphic designery, she tends to fancy tangents, hard-to-read wristwatches, random occurrences, being a shameless foodie, puppets (or anything that can be transformed into them at her leisure) and is an aspiring letterpress printer, bookbinder and hip hop dancer. She also has ambitions of someday manning the wheel of the mod&co seafaring offshoot branch, maudical, a graphic design/letterpress/impromptu dance party boat.

Christina LeClaire Design Intern
Christina, otherwise known as cleclaire or CL around Mod, is currently attending The College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, MN where she is obtaining her Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree with an emphasis in design. Throughout her life, she has lived in various cities ranging from Bloomington, MN to a small speck on the map known as Quamba, MN - population 98 (her friends were convinced she had relocated to a small village in Africa) living amongst chickens, ducks, pheasants, dogs, cats, parrots, bears, and deer ticks. Other than her love for design, she also enjoys busting phat beats, playing the guitar, and casting spells with Harry Potter. The thing she loves most about design is the bridge it constructs between the commercial world and the creative world. Within the power of design, is the ability to strengthen a brand to its fullest potential, ultimately creating a sense of unity, function, and purpose, aka, making things pretty to look at. She was lucky enough to be presented with the opportunity to work for mod&co and thoroughly enjoys her time here, as well as the awesome people she is surrounded with.
